US Military Base In The Philippines

September 13, 1991, the overwhelming  vote of the Philippine Senate to reject a Treaty that would have lead  to continue the presence of US Military Base in Philippine land, for various reason. Aquino government still tried to  extend the US Military Base in negotiating with US government, but for some reason the negotiation broke down and finally on November 24, 1992 the US Military Forces leave the Philippine Land. ( excerpt from wikipedia.org)

The absence of the US Military Base, make our nation vulnerable from external treat as our own Military Forces is still weak. Due to the failure our previous leaders to enhance our capability to defend our nation for possible external treat and their failure to foresee the future of our beloved country, because their minds are very busy in thinking how can they enriched themselves at the expense of our nation. The best example is former General Carlos Garcia, they were given a chance to do something good for our beloved country, but they fail to do so! Instead he only thinks himself and pocketed a million of pesos from peoples money.

Twenty years after the pull-out of US Military Base in the Philippines, our military defense is one of the weakest in the region compared to our neighboring country. Now, that we are being bullied by the mighty China, because  they know our Military Defense are weak. Our embarrassing moment came! we are now force to seek assistance from US Military to defend our beloved country from external treat.

I think our situation now proves that our decision twenty years ago was a wrong move for us. I think, that our government should start considering the idea of bringing back the US Military Base in Philippine soil. Let them stay for twenty five to thirty years, while we are enhancing our defenses with their help.

Does Inflation Affects my life?

I think most OFW like me don't care about the INFLATION, because some of us don't know how it affects our life or maybe they know but felt helpless about it. The only thing we care is how much the "US Dollar Exchange Rate to Philippine Peso" every end of the month and I think, I'm not alone with this kind of attitude about inflation. But, when I start my journey on my financial freedom, reality stuck on me! If I want to be financially stable, I must care about inflation.

The good thing is that we can do something to lessen or fight the effects of inflation into our lives, unlike the Dollar Exchange Rate to Peso that we are really helpless about it.
